It is with heavy hearts that we inform you that Mrs. Jayne Farkas lost her fight with breast cancer the morning of July 4th. Jayne had been with Beechwood school since 1996, first as a staff substitute, then entering the transitional kindergarten as a teacher assistant. For the last 3 years Jayne worked with Emily Reali. She began her medical leave in April.

Jayne is survived by her husband, Jack, three children, John(Alison), Richie and Tracey plus two granddaughters, Peyton & Maci.

There will be a visitation on Wednesday morning, July 10, 9-11am, and a service at 11am. Everything will be held at The Creran Funeral Home, 400 White Horse Pike, Oaklyn

The Beechwood School will be participating in two memorial donations. For those wishing to participate, donations may be made to:

  • St. John of God, 1145 Delsea Drive, Westville, NJ 08093. This school and facility has supported Richie for many years.
  • The Farkas Family to help cover Jayne's medical expenses.

Donations may be made directly or dropped off at Beechwood.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact Beechwood School.

—Sincerely, Marge McElroy & Sue Hagan

We've been serving families in southern New Jersey since 1951. Children ages 2½ - 6 years old and potty trained are accepted if space and program allow. Half day and full day classes are available.

We at Beechwood, believe that children develop at their own pace, naturally and sequentially if given the time and the stimulation. The needs of the children at each developmental level are important. These needs are met through providing age appropriate activities and environments that envelop the social, emotional, creative, intellectual, and physical aspects of learning. Children, when ready, will be able to internalize information and concepts which lead to mastery of a skill.

We welcome inquiries and encourage you to schedule a visit to our school.
